Kids Voted, Now Adults Cheer! Holiday Shopping Made Easier as Kids Pick Top Toys

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DATE: October 22, 2021

They’ve done it again! Kids are making holiday shopping easier for adults, including the big guy in the red suit, by choosing their top five favorite toys. It all happens during an annual voting event known as Kid-Tested, Kid-Approved. Museum toy and education experts selected a wide variety of fun, educational toys for children to “test”, then asked kids to vote for their faves. Click here for Kid-Tested, Kid-Approved video.

The top five winners are (from #1 biggest vote getter to number 5):

1. Marble Mania Zoomerang

Marble Mania Zoomerang was the top Kid-Tested, Kid-Approved vote-getter in 2021.

Build and create a marble run. The corkscrew marble lifter cranks to elevate the marble to the top where the track and fun begin. This toy promotes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) learning and assists with eye-hand coordination, color coordination and building skills.

2. Stomp Racer

Stomp Racer air-powered race car available at The Children's Museum Store.

Stomp on an air pad and watch the air-powered racecar    take off. No batteries required, just kid power! This toy demonstrates STEM learning through basic physics, cause and effects and air power (hydraulics). It also encourages physical activity.

3. Dino Pop-it

Dino Pop-It, one of the top five Kid-Tested, Kid-Approved vote-getters in 2021.

Press the bubbles down and  make a popping noise (think bubble wrap but with a dino twist.) This sensory toy stimulates the hearing sense. It engages a child’s attention both physically and cognitively.

4. Schyilling Fishing Game

Close up of the Schyilling Fishing Game.

Several can fish at once in this eye-hand coordination game. Set a timer and see who catches the most fish. This game promotes teamwork too.

 5 T-REX Rumble Game

All of the game pieces for T-REX Rumble.

Strap on tiny T-Rex arms and get ready to giggle as players compete in challenges from four different dino games. This activity promotes social skills, teamwork and enhances strategic thinking skills.
