Ring in the New Year with a Special Countdown to Noon Celebration at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

December 26, 2023 (Indianapolis, IN) – 3, 2, 1… Celebrate the last day of 2023 with a family-friendly one-of-a-kind, special countdown to noon instead of a countdown to midnight. There will be two celebrations beginning at noon and 1 p.m. on December 31, 2023, to allow families the opportunity to welcome in 2024 at a reasonable hour without keeping the kids up past bedtime.

Join in the LIVE music, confetti launch and make lasting memories with family and friends. There will be festive party favors (while supplies last). Countdown to Noon celebrations are FREE with general admission.

The activities for this year’s Countdown to Noon include:

  • Traditions Around the World - Discover diverse ways people ring in the new year around the world and compare them with your own traditions.
  • Inventing the Future - Explore unique and unexpected inventions and objects from our collections. Work together to create your own invention improving an abject we use in our daily lives.
  • Family Paper Time-Capsule - Recount your favorite memories of 2023 by creating a time capsule. Snap a photo next to our “Happy New Year” banner to add as a finishing touch to your 2023 capsule!
  • Performances by Zak Morgan - Enjoy music by Grammy-nominated Zak Morgan, and join him in counting down to 2024 at noon and 1p.m.

Also, visitors will want to make time to experience our brand-new magical holiday exhibit, WinterFaire, an indoor experience. There is so much to see and do in this exhibition, including playing carnival-like games, hands-on activities, meeting adorable animal characters, and of course exciting trips down the WinterSlide. Plus, do not forget to see one of the last showings of the Llouie the Llama’s Winter Adventure: Lost in the Woods performance (free with admission) within Lilly Theater at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis.

Countdown to Noon is presented by Peterman Brothers – Heating, Cooling, Plumbing.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is proud to partner with Riley Children’s Health, Old National Bank, Ice Miller LLP, and The Heritage Group.
