Girls Explore Their Passions at STEM Exploration Day 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 

INDIANAPOLIS (September 27, 2023) – The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is proud to be an inspiring place for girls of all ages to explore their passions in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM). Our second annual STEM Exploration Day will take place on Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This event is made possible by Lilly Girls & Young Women in STEM. 

Girls can expect to learn from women in various STEM professions including paleontology, chemistry and engineering just to name a few.   

Program Schedule: Special Activities – 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. 

  • Meet children’s book author Akilah Darden 
  • She will be signing her book, My Mom is a Construction Manager in English and Spanish 
  • Meet and interact with members of our Paleo Lab team 
  • Hands-on fossil discovery in the Sunburst Atrium 
  • Earn a Girl Scout “STEM Exploration Badge” by participating in the event (for current Girl Scouts) 
  • Learn from Girl Scouts of Central Indiana about their Women in STEM initiatives 
  • Collect special giveaways including draw string backpacks with science at home activities inside—while supplies last

  • Ball State Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society (SAACS) 
  • Taylor University American Chemical Society Student Chapter
