FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

INDIANAPOLIS, IN (Feb. 23, 2024)

Every year, travel enthusiasts and seasoned journalists set out upon a quest to uncover the most remarkable children's museums across the United States. According to USAToday/10 Best, The Children's Museum of Indianapolis consistently stands out as the pinnacle of family-friendly entertainment and education and has once again been voted number one in the recent Reader’s Poll!

Spanning an impressive 472,900 square feet on a 29-acre campus, The Children's Museum of Indianapolis also holds the prestigious title of the world's largest children's museum. It is a sanctuary of joy, wonder and boundless curiosity where learning seamlessly intertwines with play.

“We have a true commitment to hands-on learning, where children and their families immerse themselves in interactive exhibits with real artifacts that ignite their imaginations and show them, they can do anything and be anything they want to be,” said Jennifer Pace Robinson, president and CEO, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Take, for example, the Dinosphere® exhibit, where young paleontologists can dig for faux fossils and also touch real T-rex bones and talk to the real scientists who uncovered fossils at the Jurassic Mile® that are 150 million years old. They are just some of the 130,000 artifacts in the museum’s collection.

But the museum offers more than just dinosaur adventures. From the enchanting Playscape®  for early learners (birth to five-years-old) to the culturally immersive experiences that transport families to countries like Greece, there is something to captivate visitors of all ages.

For aspiring athletes, the Riley Children's Health Sports Legends Experience®  provides an exciting   7.5-acres of sports to explore. Meanwhile, The Power of Children®  exhibit inspires young minds with stories of courageous individuals like Anne Frank, Ruby Bridges, Ryan White and Malala Yousafzai.

In 2024, The Children's Museum of Indianapolis continues to amaze with its diverse array of exhibits. From the ongoing wonder surrounding creatures of millenia ago to the captivating insights of Beyond Spaceship Earth, visitors are treated to five floors of fun and learning.

Throughout this coming year, the museum will host an array of temporary exhibits and events, such as Emotions at Play, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Secrets of the Sewer™, and Mandela: The Official Exhibit, ensuring there is always something new to explore and a great reason to purchase a membership so you can visit as often as you like.

In April, visitors have the rare opportunity to witness a solar eclipse, and the museum plans to celebrate with an Eclipse Extravaganza, showcasing its commitment to both education and unforgettable experiences. The Eclipse Extravaganza is supported by the Simon Foundation and is part of its 'In the Path of Totality' initiative.

For families seeking adventure, inspiration, and endless fun, The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is more than just a destination—it is a journey through the wonders of childhood. The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is proud to share the honor and partner with Riley Children’s Health, Old National Bank, Ice Miller LLP and The Heritage Group.
