Ancient Artist: Picturing Greek Culture (Grades 3-8) (Virtual)

Ancient Artist: Picturing Greek Culture
Grades 3-8
Virtual Humanities Program
45 Minutes
September–May

The ancient world is never far away in modern Greece. Learn about how ancient artists drew on inspiration from the rich stories of Greek literature, from the Iliad and Odyssey to timeless myths and legends, to create art work that still epitomizes unmistakably Greek culture today. Students will also discover the historic process for black figure pottery making and experiment with the concepts they learn to create their own work of art.
