Health and Safety Procedures

Mask Policy Update—Effective Sept. 8, 2021

Your health and safety are our top priority. Throughout the pandemic we have closely and consistently followed the recommendations, data, and research provided by the CDC, local and state health departments, and our scientific advisory panel consisting of leading medical and public health officials. Due to the rapid increase in COVID cases in Indiana, the stress on our local medical resources and staff, and the challenges schools face to continue in-person education, we have updated our mask policy:

Face masks that cover the nose and mouth are required indoors for all visitors ages 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status. Masks are not required in the outdoor areas of the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience®. Visitors who do not comply will be asked to leave and refunds will not be issued for already scanned tickets.

We will continue to monitor the situation, consult with our team of experts, and re-evaluate as necessary.

Rex can’t wait to see you!

We have missed your sparkling eyes, the sound of giggles, and the opportunity to safely share family learning in person. When you’re ready, we’ll be here. You can feel safe while having fun! Advance tickets are encouraged.

Same museum you love! New ways to keep you safe.

Your health and safety are our top priority. Our staff continues to work hard to ensure a safe and FUN visit for your family. In collaboration with an advisory council of scientists, physicians, and public health officials, we have implemented new policies and procedures. Our health and safety standards remain responsive to the current environment and we will continue to monitor information from our local and state health departments, as well as the CDC.

Limited Capacity

We have capped the number of tickets available each day to less than 50% of museum capacity to ensure plenty of space for all visitors to spread out.

Enhanced Cleaning

Cleaning protocols include frequent disinfecting of all high-touch surfaces. We have positioned more than 100 hand sanitizing stations throughout the museum and placed sanitizing wipes in all exhibit areas.

Masks Requirements

Face masks that cover the nose and mouth are required indoors for all visitors ages 2 and older, regardless of vaccination status. Masks are not required in the outdoor areas of the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience®. Visitors who do not comply will be asked to leave and and refunds will not be issued for already scanned tickets.

Exhibit Updates

Most of our exhibits are back to pre-Covid operations. Dinosphere is closed for renovation through March 2022. Learn more about each exhibit here.

Social Distancing

The Carousel’s tiger is 6 feet long--stay ONE tiger apart to keep you and your family safe! Look for floor stickers throughout the museum to help guide you.

Peace of Mind Policy

If you are not feeling well, please stay home. We will gladly exchange your ticket for a day when you feel better!
